Department Manager TuftingPosition Overview
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Lead the Creel Tufting department at Plant WD to achieve plant goals and empower associates. Give direction in maintaining the operation of a diverse machine fleet with utmost regard to safety efficiency productivity cost and quality while ensuring compliance with all company plant and departmental guidelines.
Essential Duties:
Directly lead the Creel tufting department consisting of 10 salaried associates and 300 hourly associates
Create and implement the strategy for the Tufting department within the business plan of the plant
Actively engage with all levels to drive improvement efforts around Safety Quality and Production
Work with internal/external suppliers customers and other facilities to meet the needs of the business
Collaborate with Beam Tufting and Shipping to optimize yarn flows and usages
Build trusting relationships with Maintenance Planning & other support areas
Develop and implement initiatives that drive safety quality reliability and cost
Demonstrate good judgment to ensure quality and machine availability are maintained
Coach and develop assistant managers supervisors leads and all associates
Requirements:
4year degree required; Engineering degree preferred
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Great people skills
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Strong analytical skills
