Job Description
Dream is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst Corporate Accounting
As a Senior Financial Analyst Corporate Accounting at Dream Industrial REIT you will be supporting the Corporate Accounting team in preparing external and internal financial reporting and analyses and supporting multiple exciting strategic and process improvement initiatives during the year.
You will gain significant experience in the industrial real estate sector across our global portfolio and gain exposure to complex accounting and reporting matters.
What will you do
Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role:
- Support the Corporate Accounting team in preparing the FS MD&A KPI analyses and other financial and compliance deliverables
- Lead the quarterly FS analysis on a consolidated basis and G&A analyses at both the corporate and regional levels
- Review and analyze key performance metrics on a quarterly basis
- Prepare and oversee monthend close deliverables and analyses
- Support the G&A budgeting process and perform monthly budget vs. actual analysis
- Support internal cross functional initiatives and work with other departments and external partners including our European Finance team Property Accounting Operational Finance FP&A Strategic Finance and Tax
- Research and analyze corporate transactions and lease agreements assess complex accounting matters and draft technical accounting policies and memos
- Identify and implement opportunities in process improvements and reporting in the monthend close and financial reporting processes
- Take initiative to write and streamline reports from our financial systems
- Assist with ad hoc accounting systems and strategic projects
- Prepare or review statutory legal entity statements for tax purposes
- Coach and supervise junior resources as needed
What type of experience is required
- Minimum 25 years of accounting experience in a related role preferably within the real estate industry
- Big four experience in the real estate industry are considered an asset
- Professional Accounting Designation such as CPA
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Ability to independently identify issues and determine an action plan to resolve them
- Superior interpersonal oral and written communication at all levels of the organization
- Attention to accuracy and detail oriented
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask whilst ensuring reporting deadlines are met
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Workiva JDE or ReportsNow are considered an asset
