Math Academic Teacher for theSchool Year

The Chicago High School for the Arts is now accepting applications for a licensed Math Academic Teacher.

ChiArts develops the next generation of artistically gifted diverse scholarartists through rigorous preprofessional arts training combined with a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum. Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Math Teacher who is dedicated to providing an engaging collegepreparatory education that challenges students to achieve at high levels. The ideal candidate will differentiate instruction design datadriven lesson plans and integrate technology to enhance student learning.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Student Engagement

  • Develop and implement dynamic studentcentered lessons that promote critical thinking problemsolving and mathematical reasoning.
  • Foster a classroom culture that encourages curiosity collaboration and academic excellence.
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and ensure equitable access to rigorous content.
  • Utilize a variety of assessment tools to measure student progress and inform instructional decisions.
  • Prepare students for success in ChiArts curriculum and standardized assessments.

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement best practices that align with CHiArts unique instructional approach.
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings professional development sessions and schoolwide initiatives.
  • Engage with artistic faculty to support students overall academic and artistic success.
  • Maintain regular communication with students families and staff to support student progress and wellbeing.

School & Community Engagement

  • Implement traumainformed restorative justice and antiracist practices in the classroom.
  • Serve as a student advisor and provide mentorship to help students navigate academic and personal challenges.
  • Participate in school events parent conferences open houses and other communitybuilding activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance attendance and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Illinois teaching certification with appropriate content endorsement(s).
  • Experience with curriculum development and backward design planning preferred.
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and its integration into the classroom.
  • Passion for arts education and commitment to ChiArts mission.
  • Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students and staff in a fastpaced innovative environment.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $60000 $75000 (based on experience and qualifications).
