Job Description
First Quality Retail Services LLC in Lewistown PA is seeking talented teamoriented college students for its Internship Programs. We have one goal: providing you with real life handson experience! These positions are fulltime paid positions where you will work on real projects with real results!
Purpose and role of job:
Provide technical skills in the operation and support of the environmental health and safety program to maintain an accidentfree work environment and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with FQ local State and Federal OSHA rules and regulations
- Aspires to achieve a zero injury culture through visible support of the injury prevention and safety program
- Ensure required safety training is complete for all team members and training records are maintained.
- Participate in the new hire safety orientation process
- Assist organization in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities
- Conduct regular walk through safety inspections to identify hazards document findings recommend corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made
- Assist in establishing policies for preventive actions through studying incidents and potential risks in general work environments
- Ensure incident investigation mitigation and reporting process is followed
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with all team members vendors and customers
- Facilitate communication of company safety policies procedures and standards with all visitors including contractors and vendors
- Complete administrative responsibilities and documentation including training records accident/incident reporting OSHA log updates employee files and workers compensation claim filing
- Assist in overall workers compensation administration and coordination of the ReturntoWork program for injured team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and experience requirements:
- Bachelors degree (or demonstrated progress toward a degree) in related field of study
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- 03 years of experience including academic projects
- Highly motivated strong team player with good ability to multitask and reprioritize as necessary
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Standard knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Work Environment:
- In wet hot and cold environments inside and outside of the facility
- In ear eye and foot protection areas
- Under pressure of deadlines and manage moderate levels of stress
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 25 pounds
- Walk long distances
- Climb steps
- Bend stoop stretch
- Stand for long periods of time
- Type and read small print on screen and blueprints/schematics
- Ability to travel as needed to other sites via commercial airline or vehicle
