As a Telemetry Nurse you will be responsible for monitoring patients with cardiac conditions and other critical illnesses utilizing advanced telemetry equipment to track vital signs and alert the healthcare team to any changes in the patients status. You will work closely with physicians specialists and other nurses to provide optimal care and ensure that patients are stable during their hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients cardiac and vital signs using telemetry equipment and other monitoring systems
- Interpret EKG and arrhythmia readings to assess the patients condition and identify any abnormalities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed ensuring proper dosage and patient response
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Respond to emergency situations quickly efficiently and with sound judgment
- Document patient information and interventions accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide education to patients and families regarding cardiac health treatment plans and postdischarge care
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain a calm and efficient approach in highstress situations
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current active unencumbered GA license
- Experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 1 year of hire
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring EKG interpretation and arrhythmia management
- Excellent critical thinking problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle emergency situations with composure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients families and healthcare providers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
- Detailoriented and organized with a commitment to providing the highest quality care
