Job Description

Our camps and programs invite young people and families into lifechanging moments through the power of camp!

Our heart is to see young people and families be given opportunities to hear and respond to the gospel message during camp. With over 4000 people involved in camps over the past year we have an incredible opportunity to engage and equip our campers in their faith journey. The Ongoing Discipleship Catalyst role is central to facilitating this to occur following all of our ministry camps.

About us

As the ministry department of Christian Youth Camps CYC Ministries exists to create moments where young people and families can experience a relationship with Jesus and be equipped to live that out in their everyday lives. Each year we facilitate over 40 camps and events for young people families and leaders across our five campsites in Victoria (and soon to be a sixth in Tasmania!. Whilst our Christian faith is at the core of what we do CYC camps and events extend to young people and families from a diverse range of backgrounds aiming to encourage campers to develop new skills grow in their confidence create lifelong memories as well as engage in Christian input and discuss issues around life and faith.

Main goal:

Reporting to the Generations Ministry Coordinator the role of the Ongoing Discipleship Catalyst is twofold:

  • To develop and implement a bridge building strategy for ongoing discipleship recognising that the campers experience of encountering Jesus on camp is not sustainable without them being connected to a local church community.
  • To identify and implement new opportunities and resources to equip campers to live out their faith every day.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Developing and implementing a strategy to connect campers to local churches or ministries postcamp.
  • Identifying resources to equip our primary teen and family campers in their discipleship journey.
  • Developing and implementing a strategy to engage campers with these resources.Planning and facilitating events outside of our camps that allow campers to continue to engage in their discipleship journey

  • You have a proven ability for the development of new ministry programs and initiatives
  • You have a proven ability to connect relationally both with staff and volunteers
  • You have a proven ability to effectively plan organise and problemsolve.
  • You will have a good understanding and previous experience with all aspects of the Microsoft and Google suites.

You will need:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check

This is a parttime role of 0.6 FTE based in our Ringwood office.
