Job Description
A progressive Independent School in Harrow is seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher for a permanent fulltime position starting in September. The ideal English Teacher will inspire students in Key Stages 3 and 4 with a love for literature and language.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective English Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations.
- Develop students understanding and appreciation of a wide range of texts.
- Assess and monitor student progress providing timely and constructive feedback as an English Teacher.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Foster a culture of literacy and articulate communication within the school.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4.
- Strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities in English.
