About this role
This role is the sturdy foundation underpinning Osbits success. An Osbit Mechanical Engineer is technically capable and driven in equal measure. Youre an energetic allrounder owning your project from start to finish and collaborating closely with your colleagues to overcome any obstacles thrown your way. The offshore wind industry is growing fast and our projects are too. Theres lots to work on with opportunities to take ownership and make a genuine difference to our business outcomes. You must be willing to get stuck in combining your technical nous with strong communication and lateral thinking to ensure that we deliver On Spec to Budget and In Time OSBIT every time.
Your responsibilities
Youll be part of a live project team working closely with your teammates to design and build each engineering system. You may be assigned different roles projecttoproject and your core responsibilities include:
- Helping design innovative systems from first principles from concept through to detailed design while maintaining technical excellence.
- Supporting on schedule delivery by effective management of your project deliverables.
- Managing supplier progress holding regular meetings and inperson support.
- Preparing technical documentation & design calculations for peer review and checking third party documentation.
- Preparing for and carrying out testing commissioning and mobilisation activities.
- Liaising with other business functions including finance and HSSEQ for support and guidance.
- Supporting your teammates by sharing your knowledge and insights in working groups and presentations where applicable.

Your experience
We welcome a range of qualification levels from graduates onwards. In this role as a basis youll need:
- A degreelevel qualification or equivalent in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering Structural Engineering Offshore Engineering Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- The ability to work with Autodesk Inventor software.
- Proficiency in hand calculations through to Staad and FEA.
Further information
- Successful applicants be based at our Riding Mill headquarters in North East England working on site as required.
- Working abroad may be required at times to visit customers suppliers and support assembly programmes.
