Dynalectric is an $800 million firm with offices throughout the United States and is ranked as one of the nations largest electrical contractors. The Dulles office of Dynalectric Company which services Virginia Maryland and the District of Columbia was opened in 1965. Since then we have completed hundreds of diverse projects in the Metropolitan Area with contracts on the largest projects exceeding $100 million. The Dulles office currently employs 90 office personnel and 700 field employees.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager

SUMMARY

Dynalectric is hiring a Senior Project Manager to assist the company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing and directing assigned commercial electrical construction projects at various locations in the metropolitan area and taking appropriate action to ensure projects are completed on time within budget and with defined resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Contract scope
  2. Interpret contract drawings and specifications for work to be
  3. Prepare major purchase orders in accordance with Contract Scope and documents.
  4. Prepare budget breakdown for project cost
  5. Prepare a payment breakdown incorporating cash flow
  6. Prepare and submit monthly billings and collect overdue
  7. Prepare applications for Permits Certificate of Insurance and company project startup
  8. Working knowledge of incorporating electrical construction activities into a general construction
  9. Coordinate the requisitioning of commodities and other materials in a manner to promote early and bulk
  10. Coordinate and develop a labor monitoring system specific to type and size of project.
  11. Assist labor management in reporting and correcting budget problems through early warning in monitoring
  12. Assist labor management in costtocomplete analysis for labor
  13. Assist field Foremen involving production of labor activities and work as a team.
  14. Monitor material and job expense costs and correcting budget problems through early warning monitoring
  15. Provide a costtocomplete analysis for material and job expense
  16. Prepare change order estimates and to negotiate final
  17. Adjust budget codes to incorporate change
  18. Process material/equipment submittals required by contract
  19. Review submittals and release equipment incorporating installation and delivery
  20. Monitor contractual disputes delays and disruptions for early
  21. Instruct field management on how to proceed on contractual disputes delays and
  22. Respond to and initiate correspondence to manage and document
  23. Maintain an organized filing system to support and monitor all project management a
  24. Aid Estimating Department in estimating
  25. Assist other employees when asked involving projects and company business.
  26. Comply with all company operating policies procedures and safety programs as established
  27. Travel to various project sites is required.
  28. Analyze plans and subsequent construction documents to confirm project requirements and opportunities for value engineering.
  29. Monitor and prepare project schedules with milestone deadlines to be achieved.
  30. Partner with Superintendents Project Engineers and Estimators and to ensure a complete scope of work is defined.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to supervise assistant project and administrative staff based on project size and needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A degree in engineering construction management or related field and 5 years of progressive experience in commercial electrical construction projects such as data center hospital office building high rise and governmental facilities. Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship with electrical or master license is a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Direct experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications.

Working knowledge of ACCUBID or related estimating software system.

Working knowledge of Viewpoint or similar accounting software or related accounting system.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:

Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Must demonstrate ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects.

Must demonstrate ability to analyze and solve problems.

Must demonstrate commitment to company values.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate cooperate and collaborate with Project Managers multiple levels of employees general and subcontractors and supplier partners.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twentyfive 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be regularly required to commute to field locations.

Successful candidate must successful complete a preemployment background check and drug test.
