Adult Protective Services is looking for a Social Service Specialist 3 with investigative skills to join our team in Tacoma WA as an Investigative Social Service Specialist. We need your critical thinking and problemsolving skills to independently investigate reports of abandonment abuse exploitation neglect and selfneglect of vulnerable adults. Your success will be measured by your ability to gather evidence conduct timely and thorough investigations and assist people with services that maintain their safety and dignity.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities in this job classification that perform unannounced visits in unregulated environments such as private residences to conduct investigations for allegations of abuse and/or neglect of vulnerable adult individuals may be eligible for an additional 10 assignment pay in addition to the advertised salary

Professionals with a bachelors degree or higher in social services human services behavioral sciences criminal law/justice or an allied field. (We will consider equivalent experience in social services human services behavioral sciences criminal law/justice or an allied field as a substitution for education.
Knowledge skills & abilities:
This job will require travel to meet business needs. A telework and/or flex work schedule may be considered after training is completed.
