Job Description
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai through its affiliation with New York City Health Hospitals/Elmhurst is seeking a part time 16 hours per week) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our expanding team. The department is focused on growing its orthognathic practice and is launching bone regeneration and implantology services. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a 545bed tertiary care facility and an ACSverified level 1 trauma center in the ethnically diverse borough of Queens NY.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care to patients including but not limited to orthognathic bone regeneration and implantology procedures.
- Supervise and mentor oral and maxillofacial residents and students within the clinic fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.
- Responsible for utilizing operating room privileges to perform complex procedures and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure cohesive patient care support community service events and promote the hospitals mission.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree
- Board eligible or certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Valid New York State License DEA and Medicaid number
- Strong interest in research and clinical operations as there are a variety of opportunities for program development and advancement
- Strong clinical abilities teaching experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate experience in orthognathic surgery bone regeneration and implantology
Compensation
We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials experience and qualifications.Compensation ranges from $120000 to $150000 including oncall coverage and faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year.
