You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailResponsibilities Under the general direction of the Administrative Director and receiving clinical guidance from nursing and physician staff the Medical Assistant will ensure efficient patient flow through the office correctly perform clinical support duties maintain neat clean and safe patient care areas and promote patient satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional friendly manner consistent with their needs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinic Greets and escorts patients into exam rooms Obtains and records vital signs weights blood pressure pulses and temperatures and pain scale rating; documents reason for patient visit and/or chief complaint or symptoms in medical record as directed Reviews and documents the patients current medications list update immunizations medications to be refilled and all pertinent documents for the visit type Sends/logs specimens to clinical laboratory for processing; enters results in database Sorts/distributes lab results daily to appropriate practitioner Performs phlebotomy as needed Performs EKG tracings as needed and as directed by nursing and physician staff Sets ups cleans and stocks patient exam rooms Assists with completing the quality check monitoring logs of the Urgent Care Kit and Practicebased oxygen equipment Cleans and sterilizes instruments using the appropriate solution in the biohazard tray in the dirty supply room Monitors the maintenance of the practices sanitation and overall appearance by ensuring the exam rooms are clean and free of debris/spills etc. and the exam table paper is changed after each patients use. Performs clerical duties such as answering phones filing and taking messages from voicemail Other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum of a High School Diploma GED or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Certification Program Must be OSHA CLIA and HIPAA knowledgeable. Must have knowledge of Infection Control. Must have 12 years of prior Medical Assistant experience May be required to obtain CPR Certification.
