Our Opportunity
Adjunct faculty salary for thefiscal year is $1131.00 $1154.00 per credit hour as listed in the CBA(Download PDF reader)(Download PDF reader).
South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks candidates to ofAdjunctor parttime faculty members inthe Nursing Assistant program.
Successful candidates will possess the interest skills and abilities to help college teams lead the state in innovative and collaborative learning experiences designed to optimize student success.
The Nursing Assistant Professor will:
- Place student success at the center of all decisionmaking.
- Engage with students faculty staff and administrators to create a community of learners.
- Seek opportunities for teaching and learning excellence.
- Embrace change risktaking and innovation.
- Respect the richness of diverse cultural values beliefs and practices of others.
- Contribute to the technical and general education of students who will apply learning to the world of work and transfer their education to a university.
- Demonstrate commitment to reducing economic and learning barriers for students.
- Demonstrate competence and sensitivity in working at South Puget Sound Community College in which students faculty and staff are broadly diverse with regard to many facets of identity including but not limited to gender ethnicity nationality sexual orientation and religion.

What Youll Do
Faculty members will work with other faculty staff and administrators to:
- Create and facilitate contextualized and integrated learning experiences in Nursing Assisting in relation to identified college pathways that are linked to career goals.
- Create authentic assessments of students knowledge skills and abilities in Nursing Assisting that measure course program and college wide outcomes.
- Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective cognitive and kinesthetic domains of learning.
- Provide online hybrid and facetoface learning that utilizes a learning management system.
- Use local state and national data and analytics to continuously improve strategies for student success.
- Mentor students regarding academic pathways and the courses needed to reach each students academic goals.
- Use a wide range of learning resources tools and technologies to improve access and student success in higher education.
- Serve on committees that support the shared governance of the college.
Qualifications You Possess
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree with a focus in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of professional experience in the subject area taught.
- One year in the last three years must have direct patient care experience with elderly or chronically ill individuals of any age or both.
- Experience as a mentor preceptor clinical instructor adjunct faculty or other leadership roles with precertification nursing assistants prelicensure nursing students and/or new graduate nurses.
- Active unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Washington State or eligible for licensure in Washington State.
- Successful completion of criminal history background check prior to employment.
- Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation racial ethnic religious linguistic gender age socioeconomic physical and learning abilities and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
