French Immersion Recruitment

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is located on the original lands of the Cree those of Treaty 6 and on the homeland of the Mtis nation. The Division is honoured and proud to serve the students and families of Legal Morinville St. Albert Alexander First Nation and parts of Sturgeon County by providing a welcoming Christcentered learning community where we awaken the hearts and minds of students while educating and nurturing each to learn live fully and serve others. Position: Greater St. Albert Catholic School is looking for French Immersion teachers to fill potential vacancies in the Division. These positions could be at both the elementary and junior/senior high levels.

Qualifications & Duties:

  • Committed to being a model and witness to Christcentered education values and beliefs.
  • Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations Mtis and Inuit for the benefit of all students and support the Divisions goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Possess a Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • College Certificate in Catholic Education is considered an asset.
  • Experience and/or specialization in French Immersion.
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English in order to teach in French and communicate with parents in English.
  • Experience with the implementation of Individual Program Plans.
  • Computer literacy (Macintosh) would be an asset.
  • Committed to working collaboratively with a team.
  • Willingness to be an active collaborator on a vibrant school staff team and program.
  • Enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills.
