Job Description

Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is accepting applications for oncall substitute teachers to work on an asneeded basis throughout theschool year. Substitute Assignments: Substitutes work on an oncall asneeded per diem basis. Substitutes may be asked to cover for teachers who have preplanned absences e.g. personal days or professional development as well as for those who have unanticipated lastminute sick days. Substitutes use an online absence management system to identify and sign up for the assignments they would like. Substitutes can choose assignments in both academic classrooms and vocational/ technical programs.Minimum Qualifications:
  • 22 years of age or older 21 years of age or older if a graduate of a teacher preparation program.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Maturity dependability and adaptability;
  • Genuine interest in working with adolescent students in a vibrant multicultural school community;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff;
  • Prior teaching experience and/or a Massachusetts teaching license (preferred but not required); or
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Compensation: The compensation rate for substitutes who have a Massachusetts teaching license is $132.91 per day. Substitutes who do not have a Massachusetts teaching license earn $103.24 per day.
