This position will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all team members and guests. Your primary responsibility is to enforce security measures deter potential incidents and respond promptly to any security concerns that may arise during regular operations or events. Position includes the possibility of working Concert/Event Security at the Empower FCU Amphitheater from May to September.

Shift: Daytime; varies by event needs

THE ROLE
As an Event Security Guard at The Oncenter you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all team members and guests with customer service being your number one focus. Your primary responsibility is to enforce security measures deter potential incidents and respond promptly to any security concerns that may arise during operations.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Monitor and respond to alerts generated by Evolv Security System including access control points surveillance cameras and alarm sensors while maintaining a visible presence controlling access to restricted areas and reporting any suspicious activity or incidents through the Evolv platform.
Monitor and authorize entrances and exits to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
Conduct bag searches and operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety order and protect the venue property.
Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
Serve as check point personnel to ensure all who enter your post have proper credentials.
Respond to safety & security calls in a professional and timely manner.
Investigate & compile accurate incident reports.
Adhere to the dress code and present yourself in a friendly and approachable manner.
REQUIREMENTS
New York State Security Guard License
High school diploma and/or 2 years of verifiable experience
Good working knowledge of security operations safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.

Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Ability to stand walk sit climb stairs or patrol extended periods during events and shifts.
Ability to maintain composure react promptly and make decisions swiftly in highstress situations.
Agility and flexibility to swiftly walk run or move to respond promptly to emergency situations.
Sharp vision to monitor and observe activities and identify potential security threats.
Capacity to lift or move objects exceeding 50lbs barricades or equipment when necessary.
