Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Product Manager reporting to the Director of Product. As a Senior Product Manager you will be responsible for accelerating Handshakes revenue growth by optimizing pricing and packaging strategies improving employer conversion funnels and driving monetization innovation. You will work at the intersection of product data and business strategy to unlock new revenue streams while ensuring employers of all sizes find value in Handshakes offerings.

Youll be part of a closeknit crossfunctional team including not just R&D but also product marketing support sales and customer successtogether building a truly gamechanging marketplace platform. Your role

As a senior product manager youll plan and deliver a roadmap to:

  • Develop scalable and flexible pricing and packaging solutions: support diverse employer segments ensuring accessibility while driving maximum lifetime value (LTV). Identify productled growth opportunities to increase selfserve employer activation and drive efficient acquisition.
  • Leverage datadriven experimentation:optimize employer conversion rates pricing sensitivity and engagement across different customer segments. Identify friction points in the hiring flow and drive interventions that maximize revenue potential while preserving user trust and experience.
  • Drive marketplace value: identify the key areas of value creation across all 3 sides of the network and align the employer product and UX to maximize these
  • Plan for scale: evaluate highleverage areas of the product in service of Handshakes continued growth to new student populations partner types and geographic regions

Youll own the lifecycle endtoend for your product area including:

  • Product development process: Youll lead a high performing crossfunctional team partner with engineering and design partners from research and roadmap planning to sprintlevel delivery. Youll work closely with data science and revenue operations teams to uncover insights on employer behavior pricing elasticity and feature adoption to drive monetization experiments. Youll translate findings into actionable product roadmap decisions.
  • Launch and adoption: Partner closely on gotomarket and implementation working with marketing sales and customer success. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something handson. Its never someone elses problem. Youll run beta programs and pilots to maximize learning and minimize code investment getting close to the customer and the details through the process.
  • CrossHandshake partnership: Work with stakeholders across the employer business and the other sides of the Handshake ecosystem (Education and Student) to bring our partners along as we innovate quickly
  • Goals metrics and tracking: Create a robust and clear thread of data from strategy through development through inmarket iteration.

Your experience

  • Strong foundation in roadmap development and releasing products for complex multifaceted marketplace businesses or SaaS platforms ideally in SaaS or B2B2C marketplace like Handshake.

  • 5 years partnering with engineering teams to ship code. Ideally in a manystakeholder environment with dependencies and collaboration.

  • Extensive experience presenting both internally and externally including working with customers users and internal crossfunctional partners and executives.

  • Focused on the customer. Youve developed compelling products by diving deep into the world of the user understanding their goals motivations words and actions relating to the problems we solve. You listen and explore and are able to guide research and customer conversations to yield truly applicable findings. You can separate the needs of the customer and the user and serve both parties.

  • You are confident using data with judgment of its limitations and the minimum information needed to make decisions. Youve partnered with data scientists for complex investigations while also pulling data yourself and setting up dashboards for ongoing tracking.

  • Youre confident in making complex tradeoffs and educating all stakeholders on those tradeoffs through the process. You can point to times where you havent shipped exactly what people have asked for and yet created high satisfaction for the product.

  • Missionaligned. You have a true passion for and commitment to Handshakes mission. You show up each day to help schools serve all students no matter who they are or where they come from to find and build a meaningful career.

Bonus areas of expertise

  • Development of SMB/Mid Market products that connect to a marketplace
  • Technical fluency either as an engineer or having built complex products with engineers

Compensation range

  • $170000 $220000

For cash compensation we set standard ranges for allU.S.based rolesbased on function level and geographic location benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
