Position Summary
As part of a major multiyear initiative to expand research activities in Chemical Biology across the IU Bloomington campus the College of Arts and Sciences and the Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering invite applications for multiple tenure/tenuretrack positions at the Associate or Full Professor rank to begin as early as the Fall of 2025. Appointments will be in one or more departments including Chemistry Biology Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry Psychological and Brain Sciences and Computer Science . These exciting new positions are associated with the universitys multimilliondollar investment in biosciences expanding life sciences research on the Bloomington campus. We are interested in researchers working in the field of chemical biology broadly defined. Of particular interest are candidates with research interests in the following topic areas: chemical biology tool development; bioorthogonal chemistry and biocatalysis; medicinal chemistry; computational chemical biology; omics in chemical/disease biology; macromolecular structure and function; molecular switches imaging and biosensors including single molecule studies; chemical biology of nucleic acids and epigenetic/epitranscriptomic regulation; and glycobiology. We encourage applications from scholars who apply interdisciplinary perspectives across a variety of these domains. Responsibilities: Candidates are expected to sustain an active externally funded research program to engage undergraduate and graduate students through effective teaching and to participate in service to the university and the profession. Candidates should be able to work effectively in a team environment.
