Ottawa University (established in 1865) one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in the United States is a multi-campus system serving approximately 4000 students through its campuses in Kansas (Ottawa Kansas- Residential Campus and Overland Park Kansas- Adult Programs); Arizona (Surprise Residential Campus and OUAZ Adult Programs); Wisconsin (Brookfield Adult Programs); and our OU ONLINE PROGRAM based out of Overland Park Kansas.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing a high quality and engaging instruction and academic mentoring to students; for developing assessing and assuring excellent pedagogy and curriculum design within the nursing program; for promoting student achievement and academic integrity on behalf of the University; and for collaboration with support services provided through units such as the Adawe Center and for collaboration with support services provided through campus units. Academic program development for program currency growth retention and recruitment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):
-Participate with faculty in governance issues related to curriculum and course development and revisions including review of adjunct syllabi as assigned. Collaborate as needed in scheduling courses and addressing academic concerns (such as but not limited to serving on an academic grievance committee)
-Participate in the interviewing process orientation mentoring and development of new faculty as needed.
-Participate in Campus and University-wide governance in responding to and engaging in dialogue related to academic issues across the university.
-Participate in Campus and University-wide committee work including on-going committees program assessments task-oriented committees or task forces and other projects or committees as requested

REQUIRED EDUCATION: (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity):
For Kansas Faculty: Earned Doctorate preferred. Masters Degree required or BSN with state Board of Nursing for clinical instruction. For Arizona Faculty: If providing didactic instruction hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing. If the graduate degree is not in nursing a minimum of a bachelors degree in nursing.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)
For Kansas Faculty: Three years higher education experience multi-modal nursing education preferred. Three years direct care clinical experience required for cinical instruction. For Arizona Faculty: At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
