Job title and description: Writing Center Teaching Associate: WP Support
The Writing Center invites students to apply to Teaching Associate position to collaborate with Writing Center leadership including the WAC coordinator to: understand writing pedagogy develop and deliver workshops and presentations for writing tutors and students coordinate schedules support promotional efforts including social media and website content assist in planning and facilitating WP faculty development workshops. Collaborate with professor(s) on: course expectations materials assignments and coordination and facilitation of inclass workshops and/or peer review sessions. Tutor writing. Develop resources for and provide disciplinespecific information to writing tutors including typical expectations in the field. Attend presemester Writing Center orientation week and participate in ongoing tutor professional development groups. Hold weekly office hours in the Writing Center.
Wage/Salary: $649 $1298/monthly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Postbaccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four 4 Fall/Spring units.
Bachelors degree; meet all eligibility requirements per the Student Employment Policies; enrolled in a graduate program and in good academic standing; demonstrated writing competence in your discipline; willingness to listen be mentored by faculty accept constructive feedback and adapt; interest in learning how language affects inclusion and diversity; commitment to supporting others and working collaboratively; inclusive nonjudgmental empathetic and friendly; selfmotivated resourceful and reliable; familiar with Office 365 Google Applications and Canvas and the ability to learn additional software as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual is a highly preferred skill for the position.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE
The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities and current employees assigned new duties. Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
