This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn a singleconfiguration heavylift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earths orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a sevenmeter payload fairing New Glenn is building the road to space.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers your primary responsibility involves managing those that plan and perform initial of integrated avionics fluid and mechanical systems tests for the New Glenn Launch Vehicle. This role entails building and managing a team of talented Managers Test Leads Test Engineers and Project Managers to reliably execute the team charter. Your team will coordinate with all test stakeholders ensure tests are designed to satisfy defined objectives and partner in initial vehicle testing with teams in Florida and support new system development testing at various Blue Origin or support contractor sites. In this role you will be required to maintain a high standard of quality under challenging schedule goals and prioritize the safety of your team above all else. You will be accountable for defects present in the test process and drive corrective actions to ensure that they are conclusively addressed. It will also be up to you to further assess test and define opportunities for improvements to shorten test cycle time and reduce operational costs. Periodic travel will be required between our Washington State and Florida sites.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 710 years industry experience in launch system aerospace or satellite operations testing.
  • Proven experience and successful track record leading teams and influencing companylevel policy and direction.
  • Proven experience in motivating other departments within your company to commit to a collaborative effort and delivery on an aggressive schedule.
  • Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization.
  • Strong written personal and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor.
  • Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
  • Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years industry experience in launch system aerospace or satellite operations testing.
  • Handson experience in developing authoring and executing integrated tests on flight hardware.
  • Demonstrated success as a direct leader of a team of greater than twenty individuals.
  • Demonstrated technical or management expertise in design operation testing or production of pressurized (up to 6000 psi) cryogenic actuated hydraulic systems integrated avionics networks power systems and/or RF communications.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves regulators actuators servovalves and fittings.
  • Experience with harnessing sensors and instrumentation (pressure transducers accelerometers etc.
  • Experience developing electronic ground support equipment including control systems programming data acquisition systems and developing human machine interfaces etc.
  • Ability to recruit hire manage and mentor a diverse equitable and inclusive team in of New Glenn flight hardware testing focusing on their professional development through coaching and routine oneonone conversations.

WA applicants is $197247.00$276144.75
