Job Description
- Lead efforts in developing new strategies for operational efficiencies
- Work with applications teams and stakeholders as the platform technical lead
- Work with highly experienced and technical resources
- Assist technical leads in implementing systems and software updates
- Document processes procedures and configurations
- Perform daily operations support functions including problem isolation and resolution
- Provide status updates of task and project updates
- Provide system administration support
- Troubleshoot platform and application issues
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 7 years of experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field
- 7 years of experience or more as a Mainframe Storage Engineer.
- 7 years of experience with problem monitoring and engineering problem resolutions on virtual tape architectures.
- 5 years of experience with Dell/EMC VSM VLE and ZFS Virtual tape Libraries.
- 5 years of experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL).
- 4 years of experience with CA1 Tape Management System (TMS) and CA Vantage.
- 4 years of experience supporting Disaster Recovery planning testing monitoring and restoration for virtual tape storage systems
- 3 years of experience designing and building Storage Management System (SMS).
- 2 years of experience using Data Domain Management Center (DDMC)
- 2 years of experience using Time Sharing Option (TSO) on mainframe systems
- 2 years of experience with Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF).
- Expertise in the Linux commandline environment
- Knowledge of z/OS.
- Experience using Time Sharing Option (TSO).
- Experience with Data Domain.
- Experience with Dell EMC DLm8500 systems.
- Experience with ISPF.
- Experience with InsightIQ
- Ability to produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing.
- Ability to gather process requirements to automate into Ansible playbooks
- Demonstrated experience growing maintaining problem monitoring and engineer problem resolutions on virtual tape architectures.
- Experience with Cyber Recovery on virtual tape systems
- Demonstrated experience designing installing configuring provisioning and deploying storage hardware used in a multinode storage architecture.
- Experience developing best practice project plans engineering scripts and documentation needed to migrate workloads to virtual tape.
- Prior Federal government experience
- Selfstarter highly motivated individual who adapts and isnt afraid to volunteer in a dynamic work environment
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
z/OS, Time Sharing Option, Data Domain, Dell EMC DLm8500 systems, ISPF, InsightIQ, technical writing &Ansible playbooks.
Education
Salary: $ 138439 - $ 148439 with Benefits Benefits: 1. Holiday Benefit 10 holidays per year 2. Vacation Benefit 10 vacation days per year, Accrued on a weekly basis. 3.
