The Intervention Specialist will develop an appropriate individual educational program in multiple content areas for each student in the classroom. The Teacher will focus on creating a learning environment that promotes student learning; assess student progress; and provide appropriate academic and behavioral interventions for each student.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Establish an effective classroom instructional program aligned with the Ohio Academic Content StandardsPrepare daily lesson plans plan strategies and activities to meet identified needs of students implement student individual education plan (IEP)Assess students and evaluate students progress through the utilization of established proceduresDemonstrate the ability to maintain an effective classroom management system provide for special behavioral needs of individual students and document/report all significant behaviorProvide direction and guidance to instructional assistants through the discussion of established procedures development of a daily schedule and coordinated implementation of program goals and objectivesAdminister standardized achievement tests; evaluate interpret and apply results from standardized achievement tests; administer alternate assessments when appropriate.Utilize the resources of the school district county and region to constantly improve the quality of instructionPrepare classrooms for class activities and provide a variety of materials and resources to promote student learningMaintain a safe classroom environment; report any safety concerns to DirectorDevelop a daily communication system with parents and/or caregiversParticipate with all staff members to develop an appropriate effective transdisciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of the studentsMaintain accurate and complete student records;
