Hours: 7:45 2:15

Teacher prep dayJune9th
Teaching June 10July 22. Monday through Thursday only.
No school 6/19
First semester 6/107/1. Second semester 7/27/22.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHERS

Vacancies exist for high school summer school teachers for the High School Summer School Program. Teachers are needed for Grad Point courses (applicant must have experience and expertise teaching and working in a computerbased lab setting). The number of positions and position availability is contingent upon student enrollment.

Specialized Skills
West Virginia teacher certification in any area of study for grade levels 912. Applicant must have experience and expertise in working in a computerbased lab setting.

Additional Job Information
Teachers will be employed based upon appropriate WV certification and summer school seniority. Teachers must be available to teach the entire session. Requests for vacation will not be approved and summer school absences are included when determining the sick leave incentive. The availability of these positions are subject to acceptable student enrollment numbers to be able to offer the courses.

POSITION: Summer School Teacher

LOCATION: Assigned School As Per Posting

DIVISION: Instruction

RESPONSIBILITY: Enables each student to pursue his/her education as
smoothly and completely as possible while adhering to all state and county policies and standards

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Summer School Principal
I. A teacher implements his/her program of study by:
A. Establishing appropriate content standards and objectives.
B. Exhibiting planning and organization.
C. Making effective use of manuals and instructional guides.
D. Demonstrating and communicating knowledge of subject matter.
E. Providing for individual differences.
II. A teacher fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning by:
A. Motivating intellectual curiosity in students.
Providing a variety of teaching methods and materials.
C. Arranging the classroom neatly and appropriately.
D. Providing for participation by students.
E. Appearing as an appropriate model for students.
F. Adhering to health safety and hygiene standards.
III. A teacher utilizes instructional management systems which increases student
learning and maximizes times on task by:
A. Planning lessons which incorporate major components of lesson design.
B. Developing and implementing classroom rules procedures and
consequences.
IV A. teacher monitors student progress toward learning outcomes by:
A. Providing a variety of evaluation techniques.
B. Keeping accurate records of student progress and attendance.
V. A teacher maintains and upgrades his/her professional skills by:
A. Keeping abreast of relevant trends and developments.
B. Striving to make improvements recommended on observation and
evaluation reports.
VI. A teacher promotes and maintains positive pupil/teacher/parent relationships by:
A. Maintaining confidentiality with student records and information.
B. Promoting school/community cooperation.
C. Communicating progress to students and parents.
VII. A teacher maintains professional work habits by:
A. Exhibiting selfconfidence.
B. Attending work regularly and punctually.
C. Adhering to work schedules prescribed by the school administrator.
D. Demonstrating knowledge of duties.
E. Working with minimal supervision.

G. Working cooperatively with administration and staff.

VIII. AddendumJob DescriptionSummer School Teacher
A. Teachers will be required to submit weekly lesson plans.
B. Teachers work day will be from 7:15 a.m. 2:15 p.m.
C. Teachers will be required to provide supervision.
D. Teachers will be required to be available for 6 weeks of summer school.
E. SICK LEAVE BONUS: Extended contract days (summer school) will
become a part of the number of days worked
in a fiscal year and affect allowable days absent.
Employees working extended contracts
(summer school) who take leave without pay
(dock) personal leave (leave without cause)
personal illness bereavement maternity leave
and labor action (strike) shall constitute days
absent toward eligibility in participation in
sick leave bonus pay.
