In this position...

This position is for an ICE Propulsion and Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Engine Systems Integration Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for attribute delivery and system integration of the ICE powertrain powerpack in forward model applications.



Responsibilities


What youll do...

  • Lead forward model product development of engine as shipped and engine as installed subsystems in accordance with Ford GPDS deliverables and milestones for NA and global programs.
  • Ensure attributes (power torque FE weight emissions and NVH) meet program targets
  • Lead/Support resolution of all design manufacturing program and launch issues.
  • Interface with suppliers vehicle calibration finance powertrain planning transmission vehicle cooling/TASE/heat management NVH SESE Fuel Controls design studio (appearance/graining) and packaging.
  • Interface with PTME and engine plants understanding constraints and design requests
  • Support all program meetings (Design Reviews PMT Meetings Change Control AIMS Milestone Status Launch Readiness Etc.
  • Establish engine and component level DV and oversee testing in support of robust validation.
  • Coordinate prototype part delivery to ensure successful build events
  • Lead engine assembly 543 and vehicle as installed 1271 for each build phase
  • Management of all applicable WERS FEDE FEDEBOM Integrator FMA etc. program activities.
  • Support DPMT Mechanical and Combustion development
  • Lead Bullet Proof Powertrain initiatives
  • Lead cost efficiency workstreams
  • Support change control activities.
  • Travel as necessary to Ford Engine Plants/Facilities and Suppler/SubSupplier sites for issue resolution and build support.
  • Coach/mentor team members on oral and written communication and presentation skills to lead Manager Chief and Director level reviews


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering; masters degree preferred.
  • Min 2 years of experience in Powertrain and Engine.
  • Component and System/Subsystem D&R Experience; Internal combustion engine experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and lead in a team environment.
  • Experience with Ford internal PD systems (GPDS FEDE WERS AIMS SREA Teamcenter Etc. and MS Office Applications
  • Knowledge of FMEAs Control Plans and DV/PV Plans.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and Dimensional Control (SPC Statistics Etc.
  • Basic knowledge of NVH Materials Durability and Manufacturing (Stamping Bending Welding) processes.
  • Strong Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and background.
  • Ability to prepare and present information to all levels of management.
  • Highly motivated selfstarter with ability to selfmanage and generate/prioritize workload.
