Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Design. This role is part of an exciting research programme focused on developing smart highperforming keratin structures for new biologicallyderived export products.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for leading experimental work analysing data and presenting results related to the creation and characterisation of stimuliresponsive keratin materials. This includes developing materials that can interface with microbes to enable controlled delivery functions. You will contribute specifically to:

  • The development of keratin membranes and sponges that respond to environmental stimuli
  • Experimental characterisation (e.g. mechanical testing SEM FTIR CDspectroscopy)
  • Collaboration with Lincoln Agritech including occasional travel
  • Reporting documentation and participation in team workshops

This is a fulltime 36 hours/week) fixedterm role for 48 months. The salary for this role is $81364 per annum prorated depending on experience and qualifications.

Youll be part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment led by Associate Professor Jenny Malmstrom working alongside colleagues at the University of Auckland and Lincoln Agritech.
