Position Overview

Alutiiq Solutions LLC is thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic Communications Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and contribute to the mission of the Space Force. As a member of our engineering team at Peterson Space Force Base you will be responsible for providing communication circuit support within the SBIRS communications architecture. This role involves conducting circuit audits resolving performance issues and collaborating with circuit stakeholders to negotiate and implement effective solutions. Additionally the position requires working with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel and service portals to maintain existing communication circuits and establish new ones. This role is located at Peterson SFB Co.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Circuit Data Support

  • Collect and analyze circuit data for failure trend analysis and hardware usage.
  • Work with circuit support team and data owners to identify upcoming circuit need issues and develop mitigation plans.
  • Work with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel Space Commands Digital Information Network (SDIN) Network Management Cell (NMC) to stand up new communications circuits.

Reports and Requests

  • Develop and submit new circuit orders Ineffect Reports (IER) Delayed Service Reports (DSR) for all new communications circuits.
  • Develop and submit circuit orders using DISAs StoreFront ordering portal.
  • Develop communications reports using DISAs Telecommunication Certification Office Support System (TCOSS) portal. Develop and submit ApprovaltoConnect (ATC) requests using DISAs System Network Approval Portal (SNAP).
  • Analyze the technical engineering support for requirements and compliance and provide findings in writing to the Government monthly.

Multisite Coordination

  • Work with geographically separated team members to maintain uptodate files databases and documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between DISA and data owners to resolve communication circuit issues.
  • Serve as the SBIRS focal point between DISA and data owners supporting the Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Elimination efforts.

Support and Compliance:

  • Provide written documentation of findings following reviews of onsite reviews.
  • Support annual documentation updates through review cycle and comments.


Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of serial communications circuits to include Optical Transport Networks (OTN) Multi Service Provisioning Platform Juniper routers and circuittopacket network (CTP) appliances and type 1 HAIPE devices.
  • Familiar with application development preferably using Visual Basic for Applications and the .NET framework
  • Clearance: TS/SCI

Preferred Qualifications or Skills

  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cyber artifacts needed for circuit activation.
  • Familiarity with data encryption fiber optics and legacy data processing systems.
  • Familiarity with the government form 1067 system modification process.

Pay range:$141512 to $148434 per year
