Hatch is looking for a Communications Engineer to join our team in Houston TX with specialized design experience in data transport electronic security systems physical IT networks and missioncritical technology systems. The Communications Engineer will be responsible for executing design and construction management of fiber backbone cabling systems wireless communication systems video surveillance & access control systems wide area networks and IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare discipline design studies calculations and documentation to support feasibility studies
- Detailed engineering for supply and construction
- Provide input into capital estimates and project schedules
- Provide key discipline input to multidiscipline project teams
- Participate in formal engineering review processes
- Provision of onsite construction and commissioning technical support
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in engineering and a PE license (or the experience necessary to attain this)
- Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements
- Experience in the design specification installation expansion and optimisation of communication systems and associated infrastructure such as: radio private LTE satellite wireless VOIP phone fibre CCTV security and access control IT networks and server rooms.
- Demonstrated design and engineering experience in the mining and metals sector or similar heavy industries such as energy or infrastructure
- Experience in the investigation planning and supervision of construction works and/or maintenance activities in operational facilities
- Current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to ICT systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients on a technical and interpersonal level
