WAYS YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Inventory Management and Organization for Community Food Ministries:
- Create weekly food orders and coordinate deliveries.
- Maintain food inventory ensuring cleanliness accessibility and organization of fridges freezers and shelves.
- Sort and distribute food donations ensuring food is safely stored allocated and redistributed employing a zerowaste approach.
- Restock supplies as necessary.
Food Preparation and Meal Service:
- Lead meal planning with a dedicated team of people while maintaining food safety standards delegating tasks for:
- weekly for Oasis Caf
- monthly for Shelter soup
- quarterly for Refugee Support
Administrative and Reporting:
- Complete financial tasks including expense and reconciliation reports.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules for food deliveries.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Postsecondary education in community development social service work or other relevant human services field is required; an equivalent combination of education training and experience (minimum 2 years) may be considered.
- Completion of Occupational First Aid (Level 1 NonViolent Crisis Intervention Training and FoodSafe (Level 1 preferred within one year of employment.
- Knowledge of substance use care mental health food insecurity homelessness poverty and housing in the City of Vancouver.
- Basic home cooking skills. Knowledge and experience of food service industry practices is an asset but not essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment quick to problem solve and deescalate conflicts as they arise and an ability to maintain harmonious relationships while leading with emotional maturity.
- Ability to work and empathize with people who may have experienced abuse poverty grief and loss oppression violence mental health challenges substance use or may be living with lifelimiting or lifethreatening conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work within a team setting with an emphasis on leadership selfinitiative patience empathy maturity and tact especially with teammates with varied social economic ethnic and spiritual backgrounds.
- Strong sense of self and ability to observe boundaries engage in appropriate emotional regulation refrain from dual relationships with employees and guests maintain confidentiality and engage in reasonable selfcare strategies designed to reduce stress by balancing work / life responsibilities.
- Strong ability to work under minimal supervision and act with a high degree of integrity independent judgement and acting on a variety of matters as required.
- Ability to provide Christian spiritual support to staff and program participants as needed.

This a fulltime position where you will work 30 hours per week.
Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range is $34320 $35880 per annum.
