Job Description

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITYWe are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly union payroll using Dayforce. This role involves auditing and reconciling timekeeping information maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process weekly union payroll for all employees using Dayforce in accordance with our Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Audit and reconcile timekeeping information accurately.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records relating to schedules shift rotations pay policies work assignments work locations etc.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve and reply to all payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll tax regulations as well as garnishments and union dues.
  • Process special payroll requests such as raises bonuses retroactive pay and adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly payroll reports as well as adhoc reporting for management and internal/external audits.
  • Sort and distribute live payroll checks for pickup by center representatives.
  • Coordinate with HR for employee status changes benefits and other payrollrelated matters.
  • Maintain employee route assignment system of record.
  • Support HR and Operations in educating employees on payroll processes and Dayforce system usage.
  • General office duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a similar payroll role
  • Experience in the related transportation industry
  • Knowledge of HR processes and procedures
  • Experience in handling payroll for a large organization
  • Basic Microsoft Excel/ Word/Outlook skills
  • Strong Data Entry Skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Organizational Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understands encourages and carries out the principles of safety management
