The Parttime Cafeteria Worker is responsible for performing assigned School Lunch Program tasks including food preparation sanitary maintenance of equipment cleaning serving and eating areas receiving deliveries etc at an assigned school. Supervision Received: Director of Food Services Manager Cook and CookBaker Supervision Exercised: May supervise other substitutes as needed Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Check with Manager and get all the stock needed for the day2.Assist with preparation and serving of the main meal as needed clean equipment when through3.Prepare fresh salads condiments and other complementary foods4.Help with washing pots and pans and cleaning sink and work in the dishwashing area as needed5.Help clean steam tables counter and table tops stoves refrigerators etc. and help with washing down cafeteria tables after lunch6.Perform cashier and inventory duties as needed7.May be required to fill in as Manager Cook at Managers rate of pay at your current step8.Must be prepared to fill in at other schools when needed9.Other School Lunch Program related duties as requiredQualifications required at hire:1.Ability to understand the purposes and objectives of the School Lunch Program.2.Must be able to take direction from supervisors and be able to work independently.3.Must be flexible and able to improvise depending on circumstances.4.Must be able to deal amicably with personnel and consumers involved.Qualifications acquired on the job:1.Must know operational methods of equipment2.Must be familiar with proper maintenance of equipment must comply with all Health and Sanitation Laws pertaining to the school Food Services3.May be required to obtain a Serve Safe Certification or other certifications as required by the Director of Food Services and attend other job related trainingsPhysical Requirements: Job requires considerable lifting and reaching; clean uniform closed toe shoes apron and long hair tied back or the wearing of a hair net or visorPlease send cover letter resume and 3 letters of recommendation to Mr. Jim McCarthy Director of Food Services
