Job Description

Manufacturing Manager (Level K)

Spectrolab Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Companys Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Develops and executes business plans policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes
  • Manages develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 2nd shift. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 1 year of experience managing or leading people or teams
  • More than 1 year of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • More than 1 year of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • More than 1 year of experience demonstrating people management skills to include coaching teaching mentoring
  • More than 1 year of experience working directly with executives or senior leaders
  • More than 1 year of experience working in a cross functional environment and/or business unit team
  • More than 1 year of experience in an aerospace fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • More than 1 year of experience in using Lean and/or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 5 of the time.
