The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers with experience handling insurance coverage/coverage litigation matters to work with a collaborative group of experience coverage/coverage litigation attorneys who handle cases in California and throughout the US working with domestic and foreign insurers.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of California
• 38 years of defense litigation
• 1 years of coverage/coverage litigation experience
• Experience in areas of insurance coverage including drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL property professional liability cyber intellectual property etc.
• Experience in either or both thirdparty or firstparty claims
• Coverage analysis and writing experience
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
• Experience crossexamining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
• Experience handling court appearances depositions and trial experience a plus
• Trial experience a plus
• Superior analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings motions briefs legal memoranda and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings depositions and mediations
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment
• Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters
• In coverage litigation matters draft pleadings motions and handle discovery
• Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports
