Job Description Summary The carpenter is responsible for laying out forms bending and tying rebar setting up forms placing concrete stripping forms and handling material. A Commercial Carpenter must also be able to set pour and place walls read plans lay out footings & embeds.This is a Safety Sensitive position. Job sites in Northern Nevada and Northern California. Requirements: Skill Knowledge and Abilities Possess the ability to follow instructions as directed by Foreman/Superintendent. Possess ability to operate hand tools and hand power tools such as a hammer tape measure pliers builders lasers level transit shovel pick various types of saws wacker rotohammer etc. Able to demonstrate above skills to instruct or assist laborers if required. Previous experience performing the listed duties and tasks for the position. Lives in the Northern Nevada and Northern California area where most of the work will be performed. This is a Safety Sensitive Position. - OSHA 10 or 30 hour Certified
- High school diploma or GED Equivalent
- Two years equivalent combination or related experience or education
- 18 years or older
Physical - Body Positions Long periods of time bending and standing.
- Body Movements Ability to climb stoop kneel or crawl on uneven ground lift and carry one hundred 100 pounds dig with a shovel swing a pick swing a hammer operate vibrating/hopping equipment such as a wacker rotohammer etc. Repeated use of hands eyes ears arms and voice.
- Body Senses Ability to obtain information listening talking seeing.
- Mental Language requirements are reading and the ability to communicate clearly with all trades.
Working Conditions Primarily outdoor activity during all seasons. Environment also includes frequent work around motor vehicles cranes moving equipment and vibrating equipment. This is a safety sensitive position. Essential Functions The basic function of the carpenter is to layout forms panels footings embeds and ledgers.
