Job Description

General Surgery Unaccredited Trainee for 3 months in NSWs largest private hospital will give you exposure to all general and emergency surgery.

What youll be doing in this role

This full time 3month role will have you working as a General Surgery Unaccredited Trainee in an exciting environment with exposure to all general and emergency surgery as well as surgical robotics.

In this role you will provide effective care for patients with acute and chronic general surgical conditions whilst developing the 9 RACS surgical competencies. You will develop expertise in best medical practice quality assurance and will participate in medical education and supervision of junior team members. Under the supervision of General Surgeons you will assess and manage patients who present for care formulating and implementing their management plans.

Who we are looking for:

The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to General Surgery excellent written and oral communication skills and actively engage in teaching and quality assurance activities.

Additionally the following are essential requirements:

  • Youll have full Australian Working Rights
  • Youll be an AHPRA Registered Medical Practitioner
  • Youll have MBBS or equivalent with at least 2 years post graduate experience
  • Youll have a strong commitment to a career in Surgery
  • Youll have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Youll have proven competency in clinical skills including effective assessment care planning care provision case management and management of clinical emergencies
  • Youll ideally have previous surgery JMO experience (highly desirable)
  • Youll ideally have experience in supervising junior medical officers or teaching
  • Youll have a keen interest in research
