Overview of the role
Reporting into the Head of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety the Quality and Patient Safety Partner supports our OJV and Managed Service sites in all areas of quality governance & patient safety.
We are looking for a Quality and Patient Safety Partner on a fixed term basis to cover a number of our services across the Midlands area. The successful candidate will start in June 2025.
The role is home based with approximately 810 days of national travel per month. There will also be travel to our office locations as and when required.
So what will I be doing
You will partner the sites in your cluster and offer your expertise and support across a variety of areas developing solutions to help the safe delivery of care within Newmedica. Youll guide the teams on site supporting them with action plans to embed any service improvements that may be necessary.
Youll adopt a real joined up thinking approach in all you do ensuring any lessons learnt are shared within your cluster and with your peers. Youll be an advocate for the improvements that can be learnt from quality governance intelligence.
Youll be competent at producing governance & compliance reports and analysing data from various IT systems working with the clinical sites regarding the outputs and articulating areas of risk or concern to senior managers and the executive team.
Youll be at the forefront when it comes to providing assurance with policy best practice contractual and regulatory requirements in areas of governance undertaking reviews of policy and guidelines where required and ensuring dissemination across the business.
Youll coordinate Patient Safety Incident Investigations and responses and ensure that they meet the requirements of the health care regulatory environment including but not limited to Care Quality Commission (CQC) quality standards.
In short the role has a nice balance between practical onsite support along with time to use your experience to drive quality improvement and safety.
What experience do I need
We are looking for someone with experience in a governance related role or from a clinical background with a professional registration if you dont have a governance background role for example you may be a Registered Nurse a midwife or an optometrist.
Whilst experience within the NHS is welcomed it would be advantageous if you also had experience in an independent or private healthcare business. Youll have a good understanding of CQC fundamental standards and the new single assessment framework approach with experience of conducting inservice quality inspections.
Stakeholder engagement is key in this role. Youll be partnering with a range of senior stakeholders including the Operational and Clinical Partners at our sites so we are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience of forging and maintaining successful working relationships with senior people. Youll be presenting complex information and seeking engagement on a regular basis so your gravitas and influencing skills will be called upon.
