Job Description:

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HVDC Service Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be to providing first line support along with maintenance & repair services for the LongTerm Service Agreement (LTSA). You will work closely with the existing Service Team to gain the competencies to provide 1st line support. Flexible working hours will also be required for significant maintenance tasks on an impromptu basis as required. There will also be a requirement to support the wider HVDC as and when required by the needs of the business.

  • Controlling and performing work activities on HV/LV electrical instrumentation and mechanical systems.
  • Maintaining the value and maximize the design life of the system.
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with this valued customer.

Your background

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in HV power systems or a heavy industrial environment.
  • Safety switching experience/Power plant operational experience/ General certificate in occupational health and safety/ IT / Cyber security experience
  • Experience providing safety from the system and safe systems of work.
  • Maintenance / fault finding experience with UPS systems Battery Chargers Air Handling Units Pumps PLCs & Generators.
  • Driving license.
  • MS Office skills including Word Excel PowerPoint etc.
  • Fire detection and protection system awareness / maintenance experience.
  • Maintenance / fault finding experience with SCADA / PLCs and control systems.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
