Position Summary: The North Little Rock School District (NLRSD) is seeking exceptional applications for the executive leadership position of Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services.
This newly reorganized role is responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of all district support services for two networks of schools (A and B). The Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services will work sidebyside with two Assistant Superintendents of School Improvement Network (A and B) to deploy monitor and evaluate support services to schools that include the areas of curriculum and instruction wraparound services studentcentered services and special education and dyslexia services. The Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services will be responsible for leading planning directing managing and evaluating all aspects of the districts school network support services model to ensure that schools teachers students and their families are receiving the highest quality of support necessary for improvement.
The ideal candidate provides leadership coaching professional development and direct support and supervision to assigned central office coordinators who oversee their respective areas of responsibility within a tiered system of support based upon the needs of individual schools within each network. Through a lens systems structures culture and leadership provide support and targeted services to schools within each network with a focus on improved student performance and building the professional capacity of schoolbased leaders while supporting families and caregivers. Spends the majority of time supporting the joint work of central office coordinators school principals and assistant principals while improving communication knowledge and services collaboratively with two Assistant Superintendents of School Improvement Networks (A and B).

The Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Directly reports to and works closely with the Superintendent of Schools.
- Serves as a critical member of the Superintendents executive leadership team.
- Directly supervises and leads a network of central office coordinators to include: Reading Literacy and English Language Arts Mathematics Science and Advanced Programs English Language Learners (ELL) and World Languages Virtual Learning and Data School Innovation School Network Wraparound Services StudentCentered Services Special Education and Dyslexia.
- Works collaboratively and sidebyside with both Assistant Superintendents of School Improvement Network (A and B) to improve communication and support of joint work between schools and central office while assisting with removing barriers for school principals to be instructional leaders.
- Assists the Superintendent in the implementation of systemwide curricular strategic projects and initiatives and monitors these initiatives and programs to ensure that they lead to maximum student achievement while aligned to the new district strategic plan and school network model.
- Supports the Superintendent to implement recommendations and improvement strategies based upon the 2022 Curriculum Management Audit.
- Participates in monitoring school visits to schools with the Assistant Superintendent of each School Improvement Network alongside coordinators to support the implementation of effective teaching and learning practices.
- Assists the Superintendent in providing leadership direction and oversight for the design development and implementation of the districts curriculum management improvement model to ensure a highquality curriculum in all content areas.
- In collaboration with other district leaders ensures that district goals for improving teaching and learning are promoted and aligned across organizational functions and the new school network model.
- Directs and oversees curriculum alignment to national state industry content standards and technology standards to ensure each curriculum addresses the systemwide goals and provides multiple instructional strategies emerging technologies and quality assessments to meet the needs of individual student groups.
- Organizes monthly training and professional development for schoolbased Network Instructional Specialists in order to improve communication between schools and the central office while growing specialists to directly support teachers at the campus level to improve teaching and learning.
- Assists the Superintendent in implementing the E4 the Future District Transformation Model vision aimed to create innovative schools in new or creative ways to existing instructional and administrative practices that are intended to improve academic performance and learning for all students.
- Provides the leadership planning implementation and evaluation of systemwide professional development initiatives in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendents of School Improvement Network (A and B).
- Assists the Superintendent in providing leadership direction and monitoring of an integrated network of tiered support models to schools in collaboration with Assistant Superintendents of School Improvement Network (A and B).
- The Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services will oversee the planning development implementation evaluation and maintenance of programs for all aspects of studentcentered services including programs for students with alternative needs child welfare attendance enrollment discipline socialemotional supports; provides training to staff general education staff administrators classified staff and parents; monitors program compliance; manages due process cases and mediation; unsheltered youth; provides consultation and support to school administrators and staff in the areas of studentcentered services and related network wraparound services.
- Provides direct technical and instructional support to principals and schoolbased administrators in each network with implementing Student Support Team (SST) models which is a collaborative problemsolving process to provide intensive support and wraparound services to both students experiencing difficulties in the classroom and their families.
- Oversees all aspects of alternative learning environment programs throughout the school district.
- Assures that school administration implements practices and legal requirements related to health safety welfare enrollment and attendance of students.
- Oversees the implementation of a districtwide Dyslexia support system.
- Oversees all aspects of student enrollment including school choice options and attendance zone boundaries for students and families.
- Directs the evaluation of the effectiveness of StudentCentered Support Service programs and prepares reports for a variety of audiences at the direction of the Superintendent.
- Oversees the implementation of Network Wraparound services which are those nonacademic supports that address critical issues such as mental health and physical health needs food insecurity lack of stable housing violence incarceration of a parent and many other challenges that can have adverse effects on a students readiness and ability to learn. As such the aim is to ensure that children families and caregivers within each network receive the support services and assistance they need within 24 hours at the highest level of customer service and hospitality.
- Directs the Special Services program of the district to ensure program integration with other departments and support and service to network schools.
- Responsible for ensuring districtwide compliance with federal and state Special Education Regulations while managing all Special Services staff.
- Perform other related work as required and directed by the Superintendent.
Competencies: Comprehensive knowledge of schoolbased administration; comprehensive knowledge of school district outcomes procedures and the network organization support model. Knowledge and ability to lead and coach district coordinators to assist teachers with improving teaching and learning within the assigned network of schools. Ability to demonstrate strong internal and external support for the NLRSD. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Arkansas District Level Administrator (P12 or meets qualifications and requirements for reciprocity or is eligible to hold appropriate licensure.
- Doctoral degree in a related field of study is preferred.
- Curriculum Program Director or Special Education Director licensure is preferred.
- Have a minimum of five 5 years experience as a central office district leader is preferred.
- Have a minimum of eight 8 years of successful job performance in education including teaching supervision leadership and administration.
- Demonstrated success in leading largescale systemic change with educational and organizational improvement initiatives.
- Experience in project and process management including the ability to identify develop and deploy resources across multiple initiatives.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork creative problemsolving and selfmotivation are necessary for success.
- Experienced leadership in an urban school district is preferred.

Work Environment:
- Work is primarily conducted in an office or school setting. Prolonged stationary work and attention to desk or computer tasks are required. This position is cognitively demanding and requires especially welldeveloped professional social skills and communication skills. Movement in and about schools and office buildings/grounds is a frequent requirement and the ability to carry or lift items 75 lbs. or less.
