What Youll Do:
As a dailysubstitute you will perform related duties in the absence of the regular classroom teacher to provide continuity in the daytoday responsibilities by implementing the teachers prepared lesson plans.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide instructions according to lesson plans as prepared by the classroom teacher or create lesson plans in absence of a prepared lesson.
- Uphold all District policies rules and procedures to which all regular teachers are subject.
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist the teacher with all aspects of the daily routine including distributing and collecting supplies keeping attendance records lunchroom duty recess etc.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times: in the classroom school site and in the community.
- Ability to present material using a variety of approaches techniques and media aids to stimulate interest enthusiasm and curiosity about subjects and events.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Teacher/Principal.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Postsecondary education preferred
- Minimum of 1year teaching experience and working in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies
- Bilingual candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Additional Information:
Daily Substitute employees are as needed oncall daytoday basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with daily substitute employment.
