Description
HAC Inc is an employeeowned company seeking a highly selfmotivated individual to join the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have senior level experience as an accountant preferably in grocery retail or a related industry sector.
As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst this person will streamline our budgeting payroll and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting department as part of the broader finance function
- Consolidating & preparing financial statements internal & external
- Creating strategic plans for accounting operations
- Ensuring compliance with accounting rules and regs (GAAP)
- Direct & manage a large team with multiple direct reports
- Assisting management with important financial decisions
- Strong systems skills and to drive process improvement and transformation of the department
- Mentoring and coaching a highperformance team.
Qualifications
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in business accounting or related field
- Five or more years of experience as a seniorlevel accounting or finance manager
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Exemplary history of financial project management
Work environment/physical demands:
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator copy machine and computer printer.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Lifting of items 10 25 lbs.
- This position requires no travel.
