Job Specification
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with expertise in Python and SQL to analyse large datasets build predictive models and generate actionable insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with business leaders engineers and analysts to develop datadriven solutions that optimize operations improve decisionmaking and drive business growth.
In order to be considered for this role you must meetthe following requirements:
- Matric
- BSc in engineering and/or sciences with demonstrable experience in machine learning. MSc degree is a plus
- Microsoft Certification in SQL Development
You must be an expert in:
- Strong expertise in Python
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and managing large datasets.
- Experience with geospatial data processing (GIS PostGIS QGIS ArcGIS).
- Familiarity with big data toolfor largescale mining data analysis.
- Experience with sensor and IoT data processing in mining environments.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling probability and hypothesis testing.
- Handson experience with ETL processes and data pipeline automation.
- Ability to work with realtime data streaming technologies.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools
- Knowledge of predictive analytics and time series forecasting for mining operations.
- Strong background in AI/ML applications for ore reserve estimation and mine scheduling.
Key Responsibilities (Not limited to):
Analyse geospatial geological sensor and operational data to optimise mining operations.
Develop and implement machine learning models for ore grade prediction mineral exploration and equipment failure detection.
Write efficient Python scripts for data processing feature engineering and predictive modeling.
Design and optimise SQL queries for extracting insights from large mining datasets.
Work with realtime data from mining equipment IoT sensors and fleet management systems to improve operational efficiency.
Utilise geospatial analytics (GIS PostGIS QGIS ArcGIS) for resource mapping and exploration.
Implement predictive maintenance models to reduce unplanned downtime of heavy equipment.
Perform time series analysis and anomaly detection for safety monitoring and risk assessment.
Collaborate with mine planners geologists and engineers to integrate datadriven insights into decisionmaking.
Automate data workflows for mine production forecasting environmental impact analysis and supply chain optimisation.
Work with cloudbased platformsfor scalable data processing and analytics.
Develop dashboards and visual reports to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
WILL SUIT SOMEONE IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE 6 MONTHS CONTRACT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENDING
