A DAY IN THE LIFE
Sample Custodian Technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received documentedand stored correctly. Sample Custodians are responsible for notifying theGroup Leaderto receipt volume preservation labeling or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratorys ability to meet the expectations of our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). They will be welltrained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward.
Our Orange CA Laboratory is currently seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our team.
Pay Range: $18.00 $22.00
Schedule: Tuesday Friday 12 PM 8:30 PM Saturday 7 AM 3:30 PM
As a key member of the laboratory team this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpys SOPs
Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Label sample containers store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
Assists in sample bottle preparation
Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
Assists in sample pickup or field sampling if needed
Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule if needed
Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
Comply with Enthalpys Quality Assurance Program
Comply with Enthalpys Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
High school diploma or equivalent
Some lab experience is preferred but not required
Must be able to move and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of shift while performing frequent routine tasks
PREFERRED SKILLS
Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
Able to multitask and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail
