Rate of Pay:

This is a FullTime Support Staff position at grade 13 with an annual salary range of $47571 to $63428. The salary offer will be based on education and experience in alignment with the Colleges compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs Accounts Payable functions according to established procedures and accounting principles. They handle all related A/P transactions reconciliations verifications and audits. Additionally they coordinate the daily work of the Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely payment of all invoices. General supervision is provided by assigned manager.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  1. Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from twoyear college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  2. Five years general accounting or accounts payable experience required.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Software (Word Excel and Outlook).
  5. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department

Desired Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Audit invoices and vouchers to ensure accuracy. Verify vendor statements and handle all correspondence with vendors staff and students.
  2. Coordinate daily work load for the Accounts Payable Specialist ensuring accuracy and consistency in assigned responsibilities.
  3. Enter all information into system. Verify details to the Accounts Payable system including balancing budget special handling and check distribution.
  4. Assist in annual tax reporting to maintain compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations. Prepare filing reports and followup with IRS.
  5. Void and reissue checks request stop payments as needed and process voided vouchers.
  6. Maintain Accounts Payable files to ensure accuracy in reporting.

Other Duties:

  1. Prepare special reports statistics and assist with special projects as needed.
  2. Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Visual Acuity:

Position requires close visual acuity to perform activities (i.e. preparing/analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes).
