About the team
The Bassendean Memorial Library is an important community and cultural hub where people can meet and connect and enjoy a variety of programs and services. Our Library team help our community and proudly deliver programs focusing on literacy lifelong learning and recreational needs of the community.
About the role
The role will give the successful applicant an opportunity to:
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator Library Services to identify key projects and priorities in developing and preserving the Towns local history collection
- Undertake collection assessment development preservation and conservation activities cataloguing and bibliographic control services in addition to overall management of access to the local history collection.
- Perform desk duties as required.
- Supervise other staff volunteers practicum placements and work experience personnel as required.
- Assist in the planning development and provision of a quality service to the community in accordance with the service profile.
- Participate in relevant professional inservice training as required and be committed to personal development.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Provide a Document Control Service and a Records Retention and Disposal Schedule in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Adhere to the principles of and behave in accordance with the Towns Code of Conduct.
- Any other duties relevant to the position as directed by the Coordinator Library Services.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Threeyear degree/Graduate Diploma in Library Studies with eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
- Previous experience in a similar role.

Salary and Benefits
This permanent parttime position attracts an annual salary up to $95000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
The Town also offers up to 4 additional superannuation (conditions apply) 17.5 leave loading free parking ongoing training and professional development and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.
Working Hours
This is a permanent parttime role 38 hours a fortnight Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
