Summary: New Mexico State University is seeking an experienced and safetyfocused professional to apply for our Pilot position! Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of NMSUs King Air E90.
Classification Summary:
Provide timely efficient and safe operation of aircraft to fulfill mission objectives.
Classification Standard Duties:
Serves as Part 91 pilot in command of King Air E90 to transport passengers and/or cargo to accomplish operation objectives. Maintains aviation logs and flight reports and writes reports and organizes communications to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Determines routing intermediate stops alternate destinations fuel requirements estimated flying time and files flight plans for all flights. Obtains proper clearances for each flight. Adheres to flight procedures specified in the aircraft flight manual; communicates and coordinates with controlling agencies; monitors performance of the aircraft and progress of the flight including the use of emergency procedures as required.
Required Education Experience Certification/License Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:2500 hours total flight time in fixed wing aircraft. 500 hours multiengine time in a professional work environment.; Equivalency:Any equivalent combination of education training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.; Required Certification/License: Passport commercial pilots license with multiengine and instrument ratings.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 61 91 and 135. University and department policies and procedures; FAA regulations regarding operations; professional aviation concepts principles and techniques; systems and hardware. Knowledge of aircraft and flight department management concepts and procedures.; SKILLS:Night and instrument flight; flying multiengine turboprop aircraft; public contact and relations; problem analysis and resolution.; ABILITIES:Communicate effectively in oral and written form; use independent judgment and initiative; qualify for a Class II Medical certificate: develop and maintain effective work relationships; organize and evaluate information.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Will fly NMSU King Air E90. Pilot will plan flights preflight aircraft board and brief passengers operate the aircraft to points in New Mexico other states within the United States Mexico and Canada. When not flying pilot will perform aircraft specific nonflying duties such as aircraft cleaning updating navigation databases moving aircraft in and out of tight hangar positioning aircraft to and from terminal. We also ask that the pilot spend sufficient time using our King Air specific sim (FTD) to remain proficient and IFR current.

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures dirt dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two 2 hours per day.
Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of averageweight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
Full-Time
