Accounting Manager Utilities

THE POSITION
The Accounting Manager Utilities will be responsible for overseeing actual and forecasted usage rates and financial impacts with regards to income statement and balance sheet. This role has one direct report and will work closely with operations energy procurement IT FP&A legal and external vendors to maximize revenue recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monthly Billing and Revenue:
    • Timely and accurate utilities and renewable energy credits and annual true up billings to tenants.
    • Develop utilize and maintain utility billing system with specific attention to changes in tenants and data centers.
  • Monthly Reporting:
    • Flux analysis over varying periods of time.
    • Assessment and maintaining derivatives fair value impact on hedged products.
    • Balance sheet reconciliations for utilities and renewable energy credits.
  • Cost and Forecasting:
    • Develop utilize and maintain data analytic tools to track and analyze patterns in usage cost and revenue recovery by tenant and data center for purposes of reporting and projected future state forecast.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Partner with operations finance sustainability legal to deliver best in class products
    • Partner on redlining tenant agreements for ensuring maximum revenue recovery
    • Develop implement and maintain a standard operating procedures document for each operating site.
    • Provide feedback to management on opportunities for future state increased revenue recovery.
THE DETAILS
  • Location:Denver CO In office 3 days per week
  • Travel: Less than 10
  • Compensation: $100000 $125000 Bonus
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUSTHAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelors degree in business administration Finance Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility management revenue management or a similar role within the data center facilities management or energy sector.
    • Strong understanding of technical accounting billing systems financial modeling and cost forecasting.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (NetSuite Excel Power BI Tableau etc..
    • Proficiency in reading tenant lease agreements
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present professional technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • ProblemSolving:
    • Ability to identify issues and corrective actions in a fastpaced environment.

  • Hybrid 3 days a week in our Denver office with site visits to data center facilities.
