Job Description
Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed teacher candidates for its High School Summer School Credit Recovery program serving Willamette and Kalapuya High School students at Willamette High School. The Summer School Credit Recovery Program is an opportunity for students to earn back core subject area credit (Math Science ELA and Social Studies). Throughout Summer School staff support students academic and socialemotional learning strengthening their foundation of success to help them graduate ontime. Students can enroll in a morning session afternoon session or a double session which includes a morning and afternoon class. Students attend the 3.5 hour classes MondayFriday for 3 weeks. This will take place at Willamette High School.
Candidates who are licensed or will have the ability to be licensed byOregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commissionby the start of the 2024 Summer School Program are encouraged to apply.

Job Summary:
- Teachers will collaborate with Summer School staff to create and teach an engaging and studentcentered class for students to recover credit and support students socialemotional development. During the prep week teachers and educational assistants will collaborate to develop lesson plans which support student academic and socialemotional learning as well as adapt for the expandedtime class sessions. The classroom environment will instill students with the belief that they can succeed in this class and beyond. Key characteristics and skills for success in this position include deep compassion for students strong instructional techniques to support a diverse set of learners academic and social emotional needs and a high drive to persistently encourage students through productive struggles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Summer School teachers Summer School educational assistants and student case managers to develop and teach engaging studentcentered lessons
- Provide consistent support and encouragement to students
- Adapt lessons to student needs
- Regularly communicate student work and progress to Summer School Coordinator and staff
- Report directly to the Summer School Coordinator
Compensation: $40.00 per hour or per diem rate

Prep Planning & Classroom MoveIn
- Wednesday June 18 and Friday June 20 from 8:30 3:30 a.m.
- 30 minutes prep per session per day of teaching.
Sessions
- Monday Friday June23 July 11 (No class Friday July 4

- Session2: 12:00 3:30 p.m.

Selection Factors:

Minimum qualifications:
- Possess an Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by start of the summer session
- Ability to implement Culturally Proficient skills and strategies
- Successfully pass fingerprinting criminal Oregon Department of Education and TSPC background checks
Highly desirable qualifications:
- Bilingual or multilingualabilities preferably Spanish/English
- Experience working in richly diverse school communities and environments
- Strong Knowledge of Culturally Responsive Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
- Strong Knowledge ofMultitiered Systems of Support
