McInnes Cooper is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our thriving team in Halifax Nova Scotia. The litigation and insurance practice groups provide services in all areas including property and casualty commercial lines and policy interpretation. Lawyers in these groups regularly appear at all levels of court in the Atlantic Provinces as well as in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. The team also represents clients in administrative and regulatory tribunals arbitrations and mediations.

As a Litigation Lawyer you will be responsible for:

• Managing your own files and working alongside other litigation team members;
• Providing legal services across a broad range of areas including general/civil litigation commercial litigation estate litigation insurance defense and construction/engineering litigation;
• Communicating effectively with clients colleagues and opposing counsel to ensure successful outcomes;
• Analyzing complex legal issues and offering strategic advice; and
• Representing clients in court at hearings and in negotiations.

The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: general/civil litigation commercial litigation estate litigation insurance defense and construction/engineering litigation;
• Strong analytical organizational and leadership skills;
• Exceptional clientfocused approach with effective interpersonal and communication abilities;
• Ability to leverage technological skills and established procedures and processes;
• Proven ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple files; and
• A strong drive to succeed in a fastpaced and clientfocused environment.
