Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and resultsdriven Business Development Engineer with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) to join our team. This role will involve identifying developing and securing new business opportunities in markets such as automotive offhighway mobile hydraulics and aerospace specifically targeting companies that require advanced data collection monitoring and analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive systems particularly in data acquisition technologies as well as proven experience in business development.
- Identify and prospect new potential customers in the automotive industry specifically targeting OEMs Tier1 suppliers and testing centres.
- Generate leads qualify prospects and manage the sales pipeline from initial contact to contract negotiation and close.
- Serve as a technical consultant to potential clients by presenting the features benefits and technical specifications of DAS products.
- Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to understand customer requirements and customise solutions accordingly.
- Research and analyse market trends competitor activities and customer demands to identify emerging opportunities.
- Develop and implement targeted business development strategies to expand the companys market share in the region.
- Keep uptodate with industry developments in automotive data acquisition technologies ensuring that solutions align with current market needs.
- Build and nurture longterm relationships with key decisionmakers influencers and stakeholders in the automotive sector.
- Attend industry events trade shows and networking functions to strengthen the companys presence and brand reputation.
- Track sales activities including lead generation customer communications and progress towards sales targets.
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical Electrical Automotive Engineering or related field).
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in sales business development or engineering roles within the automotive industry with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems or related technologies.
- Proven track record of successful sales and business development within the automotive sector.
- Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) automotive testing telemetry sensors and related hardware/software solutions.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering processes product development cycles and testing requirements.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot) and sales analytics tools.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data acquisition and testing.
