About the Opportunity

Join our dedicated team in Cardinia Shire to provide essential lactation support to breastfeeding parents while fostering strong connections between families hospital maternity services and the Maternal and Child Health Service.

You will make an impact by

  • Supporting parents in achieving their breastfeeding goals.
  • Increasing the rate of successful longterm breastfeeding.
  • Promoting breastfeeding within the community and the MCH team.
  • Ensuring effective communication between hospital sectors and MCH services.
  • Coordinating referrals and initial home visits for newborn families.

What you will bring

  • Current International BoardCertified Lactation Consultant Certification (IBCLC) qualification
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife
  • Demonstrated experience in providing breastfeeding support and education to parents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and community services.
  • Commitment to evidencebased practice and continuous professional development.
  • Proficiency in documentation and data management.
